Concep design | Curaçao

This design is a special one as it is shaped by its location and surroundings. Our ambition is to create a design that is largely self sufficient, where architecture, climate, materials and landscape come together.

The circular form has a purpose: it allows every space to be connected with the surrounding landscape and nature. The courtyard forms the heart of the design. This is a calm outdoor space, where you can enjoy being outside without being fully exposed to the wind.

The building is carefully oriented to the prevailing wind direction in order to optimize natural ventilation in each room. In addition to this, a green roof will help regulate the temperature naturally. Because of its exposed position next to the water, we chose robust and durable materials that can withstand the elements while keeping maintenance to a minimum.
